Church of the Nativity

HOLY SEPULCHRE

Climb the hill of Calvary to kneel at the site of Christ’s crucifixion. Lay your hands on the slab where his body was anointed. Stand inside his tomb, awed by the mystery and power of his resurrection.

CHURCH OF THE NATIVITY

Kneel on the stone floor of the Grotto of the Nativity, and reach your hand through a small hole in the ground to touch the very stone on which Christ was born.

RIVER JORDAN

Follow Christ into the wilderness and renew your baptismal vows in the same waters where John the Baptist baptized the Son of God.

GETHSEMANE

The Garden is home to an olive tree grove that is more than 2000 years old. Step inside the church built over the site of his anguish, and kneel at the very rock against which Jesus himself knelt in prayer.

SEA OF GALILEE

Frequently a favorite among pilgrims, the Sea of Galilee has changed very little in 2000 years. Standing on the shore where Christ gave Peter authority over the Church, or sailing on a boat where Jesus commanded the wind, “Peace! Be Still,” it is easy to imagine oneself as a disciple witnessing these actual events.

VIA DOLOROSA

Pick up your cross as you walk the Via Dolorosa – the Way of the Cross – and pray the Stations of the Cross alongside your fellow pilgrims. Bustling with locals, merchants and travelers, this path through Old City Jerusalem is very much like it would have been 2000 years ago.
