Basilica of Guadalupe | Tepeyac Hill | Ocotlán | Puebla | Cholula

This 8-day pilgrimage to Mexico begins and ends at the feet of Our Lady of Guadalupe. In between, it goes out from Tepeyac Hill into the shrines and colonial churches of Tlaxcala and Puebla, where Heaven has repeatedly broken into ordinary lives. Pilgrims pray at the Basilica where Juan Diego’s tilma still bears her image, and they stand where he was baptized and where Our Lady healed his uncle at Tulpetlac. They draw from the healing well of Saint Michael at San Miguel del Milagro, kneel before the miraculous statue of Our Lady of Ocotlán, and venerate the incorrupt body of Blessed Sebastian of Aparicio, patron of travelers, in Puebla. Back in Mexico City, they pray at the relics of Blessed Miguel Pro, then climb once more to the hilltop chapel where the roses bloomed in winter, and celebrate Mass there. Like Juan Diego coming down Tepeyac with his tilma full of roses, pilgrims leave carrying seeds of grace rather than souvenirs—and return home by a different way, sent out as he was to tell what they have seen.

"I highly recommend this pilgrimage. Americans would be well served to take more interest in Our Lady of Guadalupe & St Juan Diego. The whole story & the various miracles involved are really awesome & will boost one's faith.

A special appreciation to Krista who helped this little old lady, who was traveling solo & inexperienced in international travel, prepare well for the Pilgrimage. Despite my anxiety, all connections were made, I managed to pack well, made some super friends & had a memorable experience. Tekton's pre-pilgrimage support (important information, coaching, & prayers) is superior to companies I have used in the past. I'm glad I did not let my apprehension about traveling on my own, stop me from experiencing the blessings of this journey."

Your place on this pilgrimage awaits.

Anticipated Weather · January

Mexico City / Tepeyac 43–71°F Dry & Sunny · January Clear, sunny days at high altitude, with mornings and evenings that turn chilly. Pilgrims coming up to Tepeyac on a winter morning are walking the same season in which the roses bloomed for Juan Diego.
San Miguel del Milagro / Ocotlán 36–68°F Cool & Breezy · January Mornings in the Tlaxcala highlands can be close to freezing, and afternoons are bright and breezy. Starting the day in the cold is a small offering to bring to the healing well.
Puebla / Cholula 40–74°F Mild & Sunny · January The afternoons here are warm and sunny, with almost no chance of rain, which makes for easy walking between Cholula's churches. On the climb up to Los Remedios the sun is strong, and an unhurried pace turns the ascent itself into prayer.

Dress in layers: January days are sunny and mild, but mornings and evenings at this altitude get cold, especially in the Tlaxcala highlands. Bring sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle for the strong high-altitude sun, plus sturdy walking shoes for the pyramid climbs at Teotihuacan and Cholula and for Tepeyac Hill. Modest attire is required at all sacred sites (shoulders and knees covered).

My favorite moment was praying before the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Also, communicating with people of Mexico through our Catholic faith.

Thanks for arranging a perfect vacation/pilgrimage to Mexico. All the details worked well, from airport pickup to meals. The guide was friendly and flexible - and having the driver was really convenient. It was great to understand the history of the country, which put the religious aspects in context. My family really enjoyed it.
