Day 4 · October 7
Medjugorje
  • On our first full day in Medjugorje, our guide, Ann Vucic, will provide you with a comprehensive orientation about Medjugorje and the apparitions, and you will be a given a brief tour of the area, so you become familiar with everything.
  • We will have two meals each day at our Pansion (breakfast every morning, and either lunch or dinner, depending on the events scheduled that day). There are many restaurants in Medjugorje for people who may wish to have a third meal each day.
  • Many of the activities will be subject to availability and weather. You will always have the option of participating in group activities or spending time by yourself. These activities may include:
    • Attending the Holy Mass in English every day at St. James church (usually at 10:00 am), with English speaking pilgrims from throughout the world.
    • Participating in the international program of prayer each evening, which includes the Rosary, Sacrament of Reconciliation, international Mass for all pilgrims, prayers for healing, and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
    • Climbing Apparition Hill, site where Our Lady first appeared to the visionaries.
    • Climbing Cross Mountain; praying the Stations of the Cross as we ascend to the summit.
    • Hearing talks by visionaries, priests, and other locals, when possible.
    • Free time for shopping, so that you can bring back a piece of Medjugorje to your loved ones at home, and private reflection.
    • Two wonderful daytrips outside of Medjugorje:
      • Excursion 1: Široki Brijeg & Bile Plateau
Visit the Franciscan Monastery of Široki Brijeg, a sacred place hallowed by the blood of priests who were martyred by Yugoslav Communists for refusing to renounce their faith. We will celebrate Holy Mass in this powerful place of witness. The journey continues to the Bile Plateau, where courageous Franciscan friars secretly administered the sacraments during the long centuries of Ottoman rule—an inspiring reminder of faith preserved in silence and sacrifice.
      • Excursion 2: Mostar & Franciscan Sisters’ Convent
Discover the charm of Mostar, with its world-famous Old Bridge (Stari Most) and lively Old Bazaar, where East meets West in timeless beauty. Then we will visit the Franciscan Sisters’ Convent, where we’ll celebrate Mass and enjoy an olive oil tasting featuring the sisters’ award-winning oils, crafted with devotion and care.

Anticipated Weather · October

Dubrovnik / Split 64–76°F Warm & Sunny · Early October The Dalmatian coast in early October is among the most beautiful places in Europe — warm, clear, and finally free of summer crowds. The old walled cities of Dubrovnik and Split are unhurried and generous with their history, offering the pilgrim a fitting threshold and a graceful close to a week spent in the interior work of Medjugorje.
Medjugorje / Široki Brijeg / Mostar 55–70°F Mild & Partly Sunny · October Medjugorje in early October settles into a quieter rhythm than summer — warm afternoons, cool evenings, and a valley that feels unhurried and receptive. The day trips to Široki Brijeg and Mostar move through some of Herzegovina's most beautiful autumn countryside, and the pace throughout suits the kind of pilgrim who has come not to check off sites but to be formed by the journey.
Apparition Hill & Cross Mountain 48–60°F Cool & Variable · October The hilltops are noticeably cooler and more exposed than the village, and October weather in the Herzegovinian highlands shifts without warning — cloud, sun, and the occasional shower can all appear in the same afternoon. Sturdy shoes and a warm layer make the climb manageable; what waits at the top has never depended on the weather.

Early October in this region spans two distinct climates — the Adriatic coast is warm and sunny, while Medjugorje's valley evenings are cool and the hilltops cooler still. Pack a light waterproof jacket, sturdy closed-toe shoes for the hills, and layers for evenings throughout. Modest attire is required at all sacred sites (shoulders and knees covered).

What Pilgrims Are Saying

I have been challenged to live out the Messages of Medj by living them in my own life and sharing them with others.
Jennie G.
Pilgrim from Brentwood, TN
I was SO influenced by sharing the time with the Universal Church. In Our Lady's message she called us to (paraphrasing) to be carriers of Peace and Joy . So, for me I will try to Evangelize at every opportunity. I truly know that Our Lady loves me as does her Son. My heart is full and overflowing.
Pam F.
Pilgrim from Nashville, TN
My spiritual expectation was met. The pilgrimage was run professionally. Ann Vucic, is a fantastic guide! I found her very warm, approachable & always eager to help and answer our questions. She is an asset to your company as her family is from Medjugorje area. She knows All!!! Fr. Dan Reehil is a big factor!   View More
