Anticipated Weather · September

Lourdes 52–65°F Cool & Variable · September Lourdes in September sits in the shadow of the Pyrenees — cool, atmospheric, and prone to cloud and passing rain. The weather has never deterred the candlelight procession, and for the pilgrim, a little mist at the Grotto only deepens the stillness.
Bordeaux / Tours / St. Malo / Mont St. Michel 55–70°F Mild & Partly Sunny · September The Atlantic coast and Loire Valley in mid-September offer some of France's most pleasant autumn weather — warm afternoons, cool evenings, and enough sun to make the tidal walk to Mont St. Michel and the vineyard lunch in Saint-Émilion genuinely memorable.
Lisieux / Rouen / Giverny / Paris 58–72°F Warm & Mostly Sunny · September Late September brings Paris and Normandy into their golden season — warm, clear days with that soft autumnal light that makes Monet's gardens at Giverny and the Seine at night feel like something a pilgrim carries home long after returning.

September across southern and northern France spans a wide range of conditions — pack layers and a lightweight waterproof jacket, especially for Lourdes and the Norman coast. Paris and the Loire Valley will feel noticeably warmer. Comfortable walking shoes suited for cobblestones are essential throughout. Modest attire is required at all churches and sacred sites (shoulders and knees covered).

What Pilgrims Are Saying

Each step of the process was meticulous. I felt valued and cared for. Specifically Krista in the Tekton office who promptly replied to questions/concerns and [our tour guide] who cared for each one of the pilgrims like family.
Theresa B.
Pilgrim from Newburgh, ME
The experience has changed me in a way that is difficult to explain. I have told my friends and family that taking a pilgrimage is something everyone should do if they want to experience an increase in faith and understanding of what God wants from us.
Emma P.
Pilgrim from Leeds, AL
The pilgrimage was fantastic, there is no way to experience so much without taking the trip through a tour service. I was absolutely amazed at how much we were able to see and do. The day we arrived we were quickly on our way to all the scheduled stops for day 2. Very impressed from the very start.
