Pilgrimage Itinerary

Day 1 | March 11 | U.S.A. / Mexico City

Today marks the beginning of our pilgrimage as we depart on our flight to Mexico City. Upon arrival in Mexico City, we will be met by our local guide and transfer to our centrally located hotel. (D)

Day 2 | March 12 | Mexico City

After breakfast, we will board our motorcoach for a visit to the Plaza of the Three Cultures to see the ancient ruins and the place where Juan Diego was baptized. Continue to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the holiest place in the Western Hemisphere, for an introductory guided tour of the Basilica and the surrounding grounds, including the old Basilica, Tepeyac Hill Indian Church, the Church of the Well, and the Monument of the Offerings. Mass will be celebrated at one of the side altars. After lunch, return to the Shrine for private devotions and prayer. (B, D)

Day 3 | March 13 | Mexico City

This morning we visit the Floating Gardens of Xochimilco where we will enjoy a guided tour through the canals on board a typical chalupa (small boat). Journey to Tulpetlac, the site of the 5th apparition to Juan Diego’s uncle, Juan Bernardino. Then proceed to Teotihuacan to visit the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. (B, D)

Day 4 | March 14 | Mexico City

This morning we journey outside of Mexico City to Puebla to visit the Santo Domingo Church and celebrate mass at the Capilla del Rosario. Continue to the Shrine and Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ocotlan. Here Our Lady appeared to Juan Diego Bernardino in 1541 and left her miraculous statue in a burnt tree. Our next stop is the Shrine of San Miguel del Milagro, the site of miraculous apparitions of St. Michael to Diego Lazaro in 1631. We will pray the St. Michael the Archangel prayer and visit the well of healing waters before returning to Mexico City. (B, D)

Day 5 | March 15 | Mexico City

After Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral, we will enjoy a tour of some of the interesting sights of Mexico City, including the House of Tiles and Reforma Avenue. We will walk around the Zocalo, the Palacio Nacional, and the Templo Mayor (outside visit). In addition, we will visit Bl. Miguel Pro’s relics in the Church of the Holy Family before returning to the Shrine of Our Lady for a final afternoon of prayer here. Tonight, we will enjoy a special farewell dinner together. (B, D)

Day 6 | March 16 | Mexico City / U.S.A.

After breakfast we will transfer to the airport to catch our return flight home, taking with us all the graces and blessings of this pilgrimage. (B)
