World Meeting of Families

Dublin, Ireland has been chosen by Pope Francis to host the next World Meeting of Families in August 2018. Started by St. Pope John Paul II, and held every three years, this major world event celebrates the family as the cornerstone of our lives and the fundamental building block of society & the Church. The theme chosen by Pope Francis is The Gospel of the Family: Joy for the World. Come to Ireland, see how the Family can transform the world and see how Ireland can transform you.
Pope Francis released a letter to Cardinal Kevin Farrell, head of the new Vatican office for Laity, Family and Life, in anticipations and hopes that the WMOF will be a way for families to grow deeper in faith and increase their desire to spread authentic love throughout the world. August 22nd-26th : WMOF will include the daily celebration of Mass, a “Festival of Families” event, exhibitions, cultural events and musical performances, events around the city, gestures of solidarity with those in need, and much more.
Tekton will be providing pilgrimage opportunities before and after the WMOF to explore Ireland, its Saints, sacred sites, and deep Catholic history of the island.
